Pinterest, the popular visual discovery and planning company, has reduced its target for hiring female candidates in engineering roles. The revived target set by Pinterest for 2017 is to ensure they absorb at least 25% female candidates in various engineering-based positions. The company had earlier aspired to hire 30% female candidates in various engineering roles for 2017.
The move comes as the company has not been able to meet its hiring goals for women in engineering roles. The company, however, has been able to achieve its target for number of female employees in all other specialized segments apart from engineering-based roles.
