Adopting her parents’ flawless work ethic, Sukhinder Singh Cassidy has risen to become one of the best women entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. Born to Indian medical doctors who immigrated to Canada, she did a BA in Business Administration at Western University in 1988. She dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur at the age of 25. However, she got her start in her career working for Amazon.
In 1999, she made her entrepreneurial dreams come true by becoming the co-founder and Senior Vice President (SVP) of Yodlee Inc. But, in 2003, she made one of her biggest career moves by becoming the President of Google Asia Pacific and Latin America Operations until 2009. In 2011, she became a full-fledged entrepreneur when she founded Joyus Inc and became its CEO. The video-based shopping website was started with around $7.9 million in funding.
Always an advocate for women in leadership, she started the Boardlist in 2015 to connect women leaders, especially those in senior positions within the tech industry. Currently, she serves on various boards of companies including TripAdvisor, Ericsson, Urban Outfitters and theBoardlist. In 2017, courtesy theBoardlist, over 1400 senior women leaders have been nominated to serve on private boards in different companies.
